NLove Story, the highly-anticipated literary debut from Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman is now available from Worthy Publishing.
Subtitled The Hand That Holds Us from the Garden to the Gates, the book is based on the best-selling multi-artist recording, Music Inspired By The Story (EMI/WOW), which Nordeman co-wrote. Tracing God’s unyielding mission from the beginning of time to rescue His beloved, in our most fragile and broken condition, Love Story exposes the humanity and more emotional underside of beloved biblical characters.
Author and speaker Luci Swindoll says, “I’ve always loved the writing of anyone who could take the alphabet and turn it into a little army of twenty-six soldiers, send them forth to march across a page, and occupy the territory with beauty, depth, poetry, humor, and truth. This is the talent of Nichole.“
“Love Story is nothing short of the greatest story ever told, now brilliantly retold in modernity by a master communicator,” says GRAMMY®-nominated and Dove Award-winning producer Bernie Herms, producer and Nordeman’s co-writer of the Dove Award-winning Music Inspired By The Story. “Nichole instantly and effortlessly manages to transcend the surface familiarity with the characters and stories of the Bible, bringing us into a stunningly beautiful, uncommonly insightful, wickedly humorous, equally tragic and triumphant, fresh encounter with Scripture.”
Nichole Nordeman is a recording artist and songwriter for Sparrow Records/EMI Christian Music Group, with numerous #1 and Top 10 singles to her credit and cumulative CD sales of over one million. Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman offers a poignant and personal look at God’s relentless pursuit of humanity with Love Story, due August 28 from Worthy Publishing. Subtitled The Hand That Holds Us from the Garden to the Gates, Nordeman’s first book traces God’s unyielding mission from the beginning of time to rescue His beloved, in our most fragile and broken condition.
Based on the best-selling multi-artist recording, Music Inspired By The Story (EMI/WOW), which Nordeman co-wrote, Love Story exposes the humanity and more emotional underside of our most beloved biblical characters. Spanning Adam and Eve's painful choice in the garden, Abraham and Sarah's crawl through infertility, Mary's teenage journey as a young, unlikely mother, Paul's staggering encounter with Jesus on a dirt road, and the hope we cling to as we imagine His return. Nordeman does not simply offer these stories from her own perspective, but bravely weaves her own life's fumbling and failures into each chapter, leaving these iconic men and women of the Bible looking less heroic and a little more human. Her poetic observations point ultimately to the all-consuming love of God for all of us.
"In every story and on every page, from the garden to the gates, I encountered God’s people tucking His love into their satchels, sewing it into their robes, clutching it in fear, clawing at in anger, carving it into caves, collapsing into it, rejoicing, repenting, revising and rewriting their stories because they were...we are...so perfectly loved,” says Nordeman. “The Bible is the ultimate used book that’s falling apart in perfect condition, much like its cast of characters. Love stories, all of them.”
“If Nichole Nordeman weren’t so curious, creative, clever, and convicted, our generation would be missing its finest songs and pages,” said pastor and best-selling author Max Lucado. “But she is curious, creative, clever, and convicted. And since she is, you are holding a book that will blow the dust off an old faith and give structure to a young one. Read it!”

Nichole Nordeman Song Available For Purchase Online and Proceeds Going To Family To Help Maintain Baby’s Health
NASHVILLE (February 15, 2006) - - April is ‘National Donate Life Month’, and the personal story of baby Miles Coulson and his failing heart and need for a donor touched millions across the country last year after a feature story ran in Reader’s Digest. Catching a rare virus while only two-weeks-old, the parents of little Miles were told that their son would need a new heart to stay alive. He was then placed on the Berlin Heart, a tiny pump that all hoped would keep him going as long as possible. Though infant hearts are rare in terms of transplants, it was not long before another young baby boy fell victim to tragedy, and in bittersweet circumstance the loss of his life ended up saving that of baby Miles.
Having met his parents through a friend, the story of Miles is one that award winning singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman found especially heart wrenching as a new mother herself. Nordeman was kept updated on his condition through email updates sent around to friends and family, and was soon inspired to write the song “Miles” in his honor, and in honor of the baby who lost his life and the parents who gifted Miles with their sons’ heart.
“So many of my own middle of the night feedings with my son Charlie became an opportunity to sit quietly in a rocking chair and beg God to save this little life,” recalls Nordeman of her feelings upon learning of Miles’ story. “I wrote the song about the journey of both moms. We ask ourselves, how is it that one person’s ‘thank You’ is another person’s ‘how could You?’ And each day, for all involved, must surely be an hourly exercise in trust and surrender.”
Much like the story, the song is an emotional expression of sadness and hope, reflective of Nordeman’s thought-provoking lyrical style. Nordeman, signed on EMI CMG’s Sparrow Records, has been the recipient of eight Gospel Music Association Dove Awards throughout her career, and was ASCAP’s 2004 Songwriter of the Year. ‘Miles,’ is available in retail outlets on the Special Edition CD of BRAVE by Nichole Nordeman and is also available for purchase/download on Sony and WalMart web retailers and will soon be ready for download on iTunes, with all proceeds going to help Miles Coulson and his family.
Today, baby Miles is doing well, having recently celebrated his first birthday, and shows no sign of rejecting his transplanted heart. Dove Award-winning artist Nichole Nordeman, having just wrapped a successful headline tour of her own, will be a special guest on Casting Crowns' 46-city Lifesong Tour from February 9 through May 7, 2006. Nordeman will be supporting her fourth album, BRAVE, one of the best-reviewed projects of this year.
"Disc of the day, hands down," declared Music Row magazine upon the May 2005 release of BRAVE.
SongTouch.com wrote: "Marriage and motherhood have added a new dimension to this already multi-faceted singer-songwriter, and she seems more certain than ever before of who she is as an artist and what she wants to communicate. With BRAVE, Nordeman confidently - and successfully - branches out and proves she's much more than brave. She's fearless."
Following the tremendous success of her 2002 release, WOVEN & SPUN, Nordeman took an extended time off for the birth of her first child. The artist's return this year to recording and performing have been as rewarding to her as to the fans.
"Hitting the road after a couple years off was a real joy," said Nordeman following her recent Brave Tour. "I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed performing live as much as I did over the last couple months. It felt as though God breathed some new life into my music."
Nordeman's music can be heard in several places right now. She's a featured artist on the popular MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA as well as a holiday compilation entitled CHRISTMAS ANGELS, also featuring Alison Krauss and Sparrow Records label mate Bethany Dillon.
