Seattle, WA...October 8, 2009...This year has been a year of firsts for Seventh Day Slumber as they released their worship-oriented project "Take Everything" in addition to receiving a DOVE Award for Spanish Recorded Album of the Year. Plowing ahead, BEC Recordings' Seventh Day Slumber continues to introduce their fans to authentic worship while maintaining their rock, alternative style on the road, at radio and in the studio.
Last weekend Seventh Day Slumber began the Newsboys' "The Way We Roll" tour to an outpouring response. The band played to responsive crowds of 2,000+ this weekend and will continue to tour through November in 30+ cities. Performing fan favorites in addition to songs from their latest release, "Take Everything," provides a tool of praise in a relevant way. The debut radio single, "From the Inside Out," charted in the Top 10 on CHR and is receiving traction on AC formats, which is a new format for this rock band.
Seeing a positive listener response to "Take Everything," Seventh Day Slumber just finished in the studio recording a new EP titled "Take Everything: The Acoustic Sessions." The acoustic-driven EP will feature songs from this latest venture as well as a bonus track (track-listing below). Stay tuned for more information on this release.

Seattle, WA...January 29, 2009...This spring, Seventh Day Slumber will usher their fans into worship with an unexpected motif and sound. Applying their rock, alternative style to worshipful songs, Seventh Day Slumber hopes to provide a tool of praise in a relevant way. "Take Everything" will release on BEC Recordings March 10, 2009 featuring nine cover worship songs in addition to three stirring original tracks.
"We wanted to make these songs more appealing to some of the youth and teenagers out there," front man Joseph Rojas says of staples like "How Great Is Our God," "I Can Only Imagine," "Famous One" and "Nothing But the Blood." "They're all really amazing songs and are obviously known by millions of people, but we wanted to record them in way that wasn't wrapped around the traditional arrangements. We wanted people who wouldn't normally listen to worship music to hear it in a way that's relevant to them."
As most will recall Rojas was delivered from depression and a $400 per day cocaine addiction, but the story doesn't end there. Recently out of the blue, his father with whom he had an estranged relationship with since childhood, called to reconnect their lives. Excited to touch base with his father Joseph flew him to attend a Seventh Day Slumber concert. It was at that concert where his father answered the altar call and gave his life to Christ. This event among other experiences convinced the group to center the content of their forthcoming release around worship.
"We wanted to come up with something really interesting, taking the same lyrics and basically the same melodies, but putting a completely different spin on them," he echoes. "So there we were going through our iPods listening to a heavy riff from Underoath one minute and "How Great Is Our God" in a standard worship format the next and subconsciously started taking those traditional worship songs and making them heavier."
Clearly the band created a project that is already resonating with listeners as radio is praising the debut singles. Debut single (AC and CHR format) "From the Inside Out" as well as the Rock single "Surrender" are already receiving adds and acclaim.
"This song is from a contemporary band plus a song that radio listeners already sing in church," states Greg Cassidy Program/Music Director KHZR St. Louis, MO. "It sounds great on the air and is testing well! This is the first song from these guys we've added...it really fits."
The importance of live touring in bringing Seventh Day's Slumber message to the masses has always been the band's top priority. This year, they have formed a new partnership with the H2O artist agency which represents Newsboys, KJ-52, Superchic[k] and other major bands in the genre.
"Some bands play great music. Others have a heart for ministry," shares Scott Huie, President H2O Artist Agency of the new partnership. "Seventh Day Slumber is one of those rare jewels of a band that shine at both, and what a privilege it is to be part of their ministry."
Excited about the new project and touring relationship with H20, Joseph shares, "God's the ultimate source of our souls finding hope and rest, which after seeing it happen firsthand with my own life and now my father's faith walk makes me even more excited to sing these songs than ever before."

SEATTLE, WA...MAY 12, 2008...After six top ten R&R Christian Rock singles, four No. 1 Rock hits, three R&R Christian CHR top five hits, a BMI Award and Dove nominations, Seventh Day Slumber has recorded Spanish versions of their hits from their past three BEC Recordings' albums in one special release entitled "Rescatame." This album will bring Seventh Day Slumber's music and message to the Hispanic community in which lead singer, Joseph Rojas, was born.
Seventh Day Slumber was deeply honored when Latin Grammy-award winning writer and producer, Soraya, contributed her translation and production talents to this album. Soraya had been moved by the lyrical content of Seventh Day Slumber's No. 1 hit "Caroline" ("Carolina" in Spanish). Her work on that song was completed just prior to her untimely death from breast cancer. "Carolina," which speaks of how beautiful each of us is in God's eyes, is dedicated to her memory.
In addition to Soraya, Argentina singer Pablo Oliveras makes a guest appearance on "On My Way Home." Pablo is known as the most popular Christian Rock artist in Latin American with several No. 1 hits and multiple Latin Grammy and Dove Award nominations.
"Rescatamé" means "Rescue Me," a sentiment that captures the lyrical content of SDS' songs, which talk about the healing power of Christ who delivered lead singer/writer, Joseph Rojas, from a life on the street stealing, dealing, and doing drugs. This is a part of the inspiring testimony that SDS is known for and that fans have come to be encouraged.
The combination of lyrical vulnerability from Rojas' past plus a bone crunching rock sound to reach a hurting audience has translated into an incredible connection with listeners and led to the commercially successful US efforts "Picking Up the Pieces", "Once Upon A Shattered Life", and "Finally Awake."
In terms of both lifting up the Lord and reaching out to others, "Rescatame" is stocked solid with ten gripping tracks. Issues relating to Rojas' recovery are plentiful, as are references to being born again (brought first hand by Fryoux) a look at divorce and rebellion (contributed by Holderfield) and a commitment to sexual purity (conveyed by Schwartz). Such scenarios are steeped in reality, but also intertwined with a tangible hopefulness that promises peace when truly surrendering over a life of sin.
"The fact of the matter is there are kids we talk to every day that want to end their lives, just like I did at one point, because their struggle is so great," Rojas relays. "We're trying to point them toward the truth and we're not afraid to lay ourselves on the line in these songs in order to do that."
The spirit of "Rescatame" is also at work in Joseph Rojas' ministry to those struggling with personal crisis through his helpline, Teenhopeline. An ordained minister, SDS lead singer Joseph Rojas is also the head of Teenhopeline. Teenhopeline Inc. strives to impact young people through relevant music, powerful testimonies and personal interaction. It operates a 24/7 cyber radio station broadcasting from www.hopeinanguish.com, and also a three hour syndicated broadcast show that airs on FM stations across North America. Teenhopeline.com also operates a one-on-one chat helpline, which has reached out to hundreds of thousands of students, giving young people counsel, preventing suicides. In 2007 alone, the helpline brought 7,000 students to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Beginning next week, May 19 at 8 pm CST, and every Monday following, Seventh Day Slumber will be hosting a live broadcast on their MySpace. The band will communicate live with their fans updating them on new tour dates, upcoming recordings and other happenings.
