If you’re a band that’s sold millions of records, taken home multiple awards in every genre, toured the world to record numbers of audiences, graced the cover of Billboard magazine, been interviewed by “60 Minutes” and performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” where do you go next?
For the members of Third Day, it meant joining forces with a new creative partner: veteran producer Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Train, The Killers). Third Day, known for its riveting rock sound, looked toward a new voice to help drive band members to their best offering yet.
The band set up shop in its Atlanta-based recording studio, The Quarry, for sessions that spanned several months. Together, the band and producer began the focused creative process toward an evolution of sound. According to bassist Tai Anderson, “Brendan O’Brien brought an incredible element of quality control, and really challenged each member of the band to bring his “A game” to the studio each day.”
What was birthed was Miracle, a 12-track simmering brew of potent rock anthems infused with the substantive, life-affirming lyrics that have always been the bedrock of the Third Day’s music; it’s a place where faith, passion and good old fashioned rock ‘n roll swagger coalesce.
“To have something new to say and to say it in a different way is really exciting,” says lead vocalist Mac Powell. “It’s reinvigorated us as a band.” Indeed, Miracle finds the band exploring new sonic and lyrical territory.
In addition to the impactful songwriting listeners have come to expect from Third Day, they will encounter new sonic splashes -- layered guitars and harmonies, sing-along gang vocals, and so on – not heard from the band previously. The signature rock foundations remain; they’ve just been infused with a modern-day flair.
“We wanted [this record] to have a brightness, a grandness to it, and Mac can certainly do that,”
O’Brien says, “but we wanted to have a little different sound from the lead voice. I’m a huge fan of ’70s music that has great big background vocals. I thought this music lent itself to that, so Mac and I did most of that and it was fun.”
Miracle also features plenty of musical bombast, as the album’s opening track “Hit Me Like A Bomb” attests. Guitars that both growl and jangle, snares that blast in your ears and Powell’s signature from-the-gut vocal style highlight a song about impactful love destined to be a new live show favorite. “Kicking And Screaming” showcases the band’s versatility, underpinning the track with an up-tempo acoustic pop feel we’ve not heard from them often, but fits perfectly today.
The album’s title track was inspired by a conversation the band had with a couple in New Jersey after a concert. “Their son was in a really depressed place in life. He drove way into the woods and was going to commit suicide,” Powell recounts. “He was going to kill himself, but he turned on the radio and he heard ‘Cry Out To Jesus’ (from the band’s 2005 record Wherever You Are). It literally changed his heart and gave him encouragement to keep going. When you hear a story like that, it just blows you away.”
Powell took the essence of that story and penned the song, “I Need a Miracle,” the new project’s first single, out at radio now. “This is one of my top five favorite songs that I’ve ever written. There’s just something powerful about it. I’m really excited about this song getting out and encouraging people,” Powell says. “It’s about the power of music and how God can use it to speak to people’s hearts, minds and spirits. That’s why it’s so important.”
The songs on Miracle cover a rich musical and emotional landscape. “Your Love is Like a River” is a stirring worship anthem that is one of the band’s favorite new songs, while “You Are My Everything” is a gorgeous mid tempo love song that spotlights the warmth in Powell’s vocals. And on the opposite end of the vocal range spectrum, check out Powell’s use of falsetto on the choruses on “For The Rest Of My Life.” Yes, we said falsetto.
“As someone who is a natural baritone, I don’t sing falsetto very often. But sometimes as I’m writing these songs I hear in my head that is what the part should be. I talked to Brendan and he gave me the confidence to try it. This is just one example of how Brendan pushed me out of my comfort zone,” shares Powell.
“The Victory,” a bluesy Southern anthem featuring a fantastic “song-within-a-song” breakdown, also features a potent lyric carrying a theme at the heart of the album overall. “That song is about making a commitment,” says guitarist Mark Lee. “It’s about saying you’re going to see it through ‘til the end and I think that’s a big theme on this record.”
Miracle wraps up with a reinvention of “Morning Has Broken,” a vintage Methodist hymn that was a pop hit in the ’70s for Cat Stevens. The song gets a stunning new treatment here, anchored in Mark Lee, Tai Anderson and David Carr’s skilled musicianship and Powell’s earthy vocals. Scotty Wilbanks, a longtime member of Third Day’s road band, provides the eloquent keyboard intro.
The members of Third Day have been given a platform and it’s a responsibility they take seriously. Of course, they love to rock out and entertain, but most importantly they want to offer hope and encouragement. “If there is any overarching theme on the record, it’s about pressing on and holding on to faith in the midst of doubt,” says David Carr. “We have this unique opportunity once again to speak into people’s lives. We’re not here to give you all the answers. We’re here to say ‘Just hang on a little longer.”
“We have toured for so many years and feel like we owe any success we have to the fans that built Third Day. These songs are engaging musically and lyrically; we worked hard to stretch ourselves for the people who come to our shows and buy our music; we poured so much into this record because we wanted to bring our fans our very best. We are proud of Miracle and can’t wait for people to hear it.”
Third Day will be back on the road in support of Miracle with a headlining tour starting in spring 2013, followed by appearances at major festivals that summer.

Third Day is working with veteran rock producer Brendan O’Brien.

Mac Powell, the band’s front man, shares, “Our time with Brendan has been nothing less than an amazing experience. He is one of my favorite producers. Having made so many great records with so many amazing artists through the years, I consider it such an honor to be working with him. Brendan has definitely stretched me as a songwriter and vocalist more than any other producer ever has.”
The new project follows a stellar 2011 for Third Day, which included being the first Christian
artist ever to receive ASCAP’s coveted Vanguard Award, as well as wrapping up its highly successful spring/fall “Make Your Move Tour” which saw numerous sell-out performances.

Drawing on real-life experiences near to the hearts of its members and extended family of friends, GRAMMY, AMA and Dove Award winning, Atlanta-based rock band Third Day uses the issue of adoption as a metaphor for God’s love in the video for its latest single, “Children of God.”
“Children of God” is the second single from the band’s 11th studio project, MOVE, and features footage of families with adopted children, denoted by t-shirts emblazoned with the word “adopted.” The families (including that of Third Day’s lead vocalist Mac Powell, who recently welcomed adopted son Emmanuel and daughter Birdie) eventually all don the signature white t-shirts, revealing the idea that we’re all adopted into the family of God.
“Children of God,” released to AC radio on December 31, 2010, has accumulated an impressive 58 million cumulative radio impressions. The video was directed by Ry Cox, and can be seen on http://www.hearitfirst.com/ThirdDay.
This new video release is merely the latest item in a very busy spring for Third Day. Long known as the premier live touring rock band in Christian music, Third Day is in the midst of a 40-city tour supporting its most recent full-length release MOVE. The “Make Your Move” tour runs through May 21 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Members of GRAMMY, Dove and American Music Award-winning rock band, Third Day, know that moving ahead in life can be amplified by having a quality education. It’s for this reason that the band, known as one of the greatest live touring artists, has teamed with Arizona-based Grand Canyon University (GCU) for its upcoming spring Make Your Move tour to offer its fans a chance to advance with a college degree.
At each stop on Third Day’s upcoming Make Your Move tour – dates available at www.ThirdDay.com – one qualified fan will be selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship to GCU, one of the country's fastest-growing, non-denominational, Christian universities with both online programming and a thriving physical campus in Phoenix. GCU’s overall partnership with the Third Day tour includes up to $1 million in scholarships specifically allocated to Third Day fans during the duration of the band’s spring and fall tours.
"Grand Canyon University is flexible, offering the support you need to succeed in its programs," shares Mac Powell. "Third Day is proud to partner with GCU on the tour, and thankful that it is offering such generous scholarships to our fans."
The need for access to higher education in a busy world is not only demanded by the fans, but by the band as well. As a testament to this, Third Day band members Mark Lee, Tai Anderson and David Carr are all seeking completion of their degrees through GCU, spending time on the road, before and after meeting fans and cranking out electrifying performances, immersing themselves in continuing their educations through online classes.
"This is an ideal partnership for us," said GCU CEO Brian Mueller. "We can demonstrate to Third Day fans throughout the country the value, ease and flexibility of obtaining a college degree while maintaining a busy lifestyle, as well as help fans move forward with an institution that shares their same goals and purpose."
"Third Day never wants to encourage our fans to do something that we're not willing to do ourselves," notes Tai Anderson. "We wanted to experience what GCU is all about firsthand, so we enrolled in classes at the start of this year. Like so many of our fellow 'Lopes,' we left college to pursue our careers before we finished our degrees. At the time, we had to choose between Third Day and going to school. With GCU, we no longer have to choose. We're working toward our degrees on the tour bus!"
Interested fans can be considered for the scholarships by completing an electronic application form via computers at the GCU booth at every concert location, where they can also learn more about the scholarship offer and the university. Scholarship recipients will be notified by GCU soon after the concert.
Integral to establishing this partnership was Barry Landis of Landis Entertainment ( http://www.landisentertainment.com), an industry veteran who advises clients on marketing to the faith-based community.

“The country is going through hard times, and there are doubts and insecurity,” explains lead vocalist Mac Powell. “‘Lift Up Your Face’ is our message of encouragement - not just to listeners though -to us as well. It’s a message we all need to hear and I think that really sums up a lot of what we were going for with this record.”
The raw, rootsy 12-track collection finds members Mac Powell, Mark Lee, Tai Anderson and David Carr at their melodic and lyrical best. Recently inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the band’s Southern roots clearly inform Move, from the sinuous slide guitar to the layers of smoky vocals. Georgia Music Hall of Famer (2009) Third Day has reached yet another milestone in its already illustrious career with the certification of its ninth RIAA Gold Certification marking sales of more than 500,000 copies of Revelation (7/29/2008).
The album launched with a performance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, a Billboard cover feature and an American Music Award trophy. In addition, the album yielded two GRAMMY nominations in song categories plus the live version of the album, Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage, also certified Gold, took home a GRAMMY for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album earlier this year.
The announcement caps a productive summer for the band, as the four-man rock unit finished production, alongside producer Paul Moak, on its upcoming 11th studio release MOVE, set to release on October 19.
“Lift Up Your Face,” the anticipated album’s first radio single, showcases the unmistakable vocals of The Blind Boys of Alabama. The song is not only poignant but is proving its potency as well. Already a multi-format smash, “Lift Up Your Face” is garnering undeniable attention on both the AC and CHR charts with 91 stations spinning by its Aug. 13 add date and touting the most increased spins the weeks of Aug. 9th and Aug. 16th.
Already No. 12 at CHR and No. 15 at AC Monitored, the song is seeing more than 3.5 million weekly impressions and is well on its way to reaching the benchmark set by the band’s previous 27 No. 1 singles. “Lift Up Your Face” is a song of encouragement, and beyond the early radio success, it is a small taste of an album that was written to provide hope for those in the midst of desperate times such as these.
Third Day will finish the summer and enter fall performing at select major festivals throughout the country, leading to the start of the World Vision/AEG Live-sponsored “Make A Difference Tour 2010.” The tour, which also features Michael W. Smith, tobyMac and New York Times best-selling author Max Lucado, launches September 30, and will hit arenas in 20 cities through the end of October. (For updated tour dates please visit www.ThirdDay.com.)
As ticket sales continue to climb for one of the most anticipated tours of the year, World Vision’s Make A Difference Tour 2010 featuring New York Times best-selling author Max Lucado and GRAMMY® Award winners Michael W. Smith, TobyMac and Third Day, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Jason Gray has been added to the roster as the tour’s opener. Gray joins the tour in support of his sophomore Centricity Music release, Everything Sad Is Coming Untrue, but will also play an important role for fans as the Make A Difference Tour’s “embedded video reporter,” charged with capturing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews that will be part of his weekly video blog from the road, posted exclusively on HearItFirst.com.
“I feel so honored to be a part of such a monumental tour,” Gray says. “To share the stage with such an amazing lineup (has there ever been a tour of this magnitude in the history of Christian music?) would be more than enough, but to get to join them on a tour where we work together to serve the poorest of the poor makes it that much sweeter and is ultimately what makes this tour significant.”
“We are so excited to partner with Max Lucado, Michael W. Smith, Third Day, TobyMac and the Make a Difference Tour to bring exclusive behind-the-scenes video content to fans every week from the road,” says HearItFirst.com Director of Content Jamie Wilson. “HearItFirst.com is honored to help increase awareness of World Vision’s mission, and as a passionate ambassador for World Vision, Jason Gray is the perfect spokesman for our video blog series. His heart for changing the world is evident as soon as you meet him and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to introduce him to our audience each week. We believe these fun, candid videos featuring all of the artists will truly show the heart and soul behind the Make a Difference Tour.”
“World Vision has been working with Jason Gray for eight years,” adds Jenny Lockwald, Executive Director, Artist Associates and Sponsor Engagement for World Vision. “In that time Jason has impacted the lives of thousands of children around the world and has made World Vision a major part of his music ministry and career. It was our pleasure to find a place for Jason on this tour because we know his heart and music are directly in line with the concept of making a difference. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear Jason, get prepared to become a fan. Jason is an amazing singer/songwriter who hits the mark with his soulful insights on what it means to live out Christianity every day.”
One of the most respected singer/songwriters in the Christian music business, Jason Gray released his latest studio project, Everything Sad Is Coming Untrue, in the fall of last year. Heralded by numerous media outlets, the project landed at No. 8 in CCM Magazine’s Top Ten best faith-based albums in 2009 and Worship Leader magazine says, “Gray’s songs don’t really work as background music, they demand to be listened to and considered.” Gray’s latest single, “More Like Falling In Love,” was his highest charting song that peaked at #4 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Gray has also been touring consistently in support of his current album, and with his soulful performances and heart-felt ministry (that is sometimes sprinkled with humorous anecdotes), he remains a fan favorite on the touring circuit. Anticipation builds for the October 19 release of acclaimed rock band Third Day’s latest project MOVE. An industry leader in touring, awards and sales, Third Day delivers its soul-stirring 11th studio album, showcasing members Mac Powell, Mark Lee, Tai Anderson and David Carr at their melodic and lyrical best, peering insightfully at life within the church as well as pointedly seeking to understand the needs and questions of those without faith. It’s an often difficult balance to achieve, but Third Day succeeds in speaking candidly and hopefully to listeners of every stripe, challenging each not just to a place of faith – but a place of faith in action.
Produced by Paul Moak (Mat Kearney, Matt Maher) and recorded in the band’s new, Atlanta-based, state-of-the-art studio “The Quarry” and Moak’s well known “The Smoakstack,” the 12-track offering has been described by early listeners as “visceral and gritty; reminiscent of the acclaimed band’s Time record.”
The project leads with the incendiary first single “Lift Up Your Face”–featuring The Blind Boys of Alabama – which has claimed more than 3.1 million impressions this week alone. To date, the song has 91 AC & CHR stations spinning and is No. 17 on the National Christian Audience Chart, No. 17 on the AC Monitored Chart, No. 20 on the AC Indicator and No. 17 at CHR.
“It’s been one of the hottest summers ever and Third Day’s new single couldn’t have come at a better time. While New Yorkers sizzle in the summer sun, so does ‘Lift Up Your Face’ as it came in at No. 1 across the board in our pre-test! ‘Lift up your face’ is powerfully refreshing, like a jet ski ride at the Jersey Shore on a 100 degree day,” raves Keith Stevens, Assistant Program Director & Music Director/PM Drive, STAR 99.1
Mac Powell, the band’s charismatic lead vocalist, explains, “The country is going through hard times, and there are doubts and insecurity. The message [of ‘Lift Up Your Face’] is our message of encouragement – not just to listeners though—to us as well. It’s a message we all need to hear and I think that really sums up a lot of what we were going for with this record.”
Musically, MOVE delivers songs that are rootsy, soulful and riveting, taking full advantage of Third Day’s longstanding rock influence. Yet the sound retains an edgy authenticity that’s incredibly timely as heard in the raw and addictive, “Make Your Move.” Additional highlight tracks include the worshipful “Children of God,” “Gone,” “Surrender” and “Follow Me There.” Each song is lyrically inspiring with hints at Third Day’s southern roots from the slide guitar and hand claps, reminiscent of Tom Petty, to the layers of smokey vocals.
Of the new album, Powell adds, “There are a lot of songs that [come from] a believer talking to people outside of the walls of the church and then there are several songs that find people outside of the walls of the church looking in through the windows of the church, trying to see what’s going on and asking those questions like ‘do you really believe this? I need you to prove this to me because I want it to be true, but I just don’t believe it right now.’”
It’s hard not to believe once a listener is enveloped within the driving drums and exuberant delivery of gospel-tinged “Follow Me There” or challenged by the guitar-picking, hand-clapping, in-your-face classic, “Surrender.”
Still, songs like the worshipful “Children of God” and “Trust in Jesus,” recall the band’s deep connections to offerings birthed from the heart of the church. And on tracks like “Sound of Your Voice,” it’s as if Third Day’s members momentarily forget the audience is even listening and are simply singing praise from the deepest shadows of their own souls.
The band will be undertaking several incredibly ambitious launch events leading up to the Oct. 19 street date – and will continue to connect with its fans through the holidays.
Tai Anderson, Third Day’s deft bassist, shares, “We can’t wait to tour this new record. We wrote a lot of material for the Move project while we were touring earlier this year. We constantly challenged ourselves to write songs that would work just as well or better live than our biggest songs. That challenge carried through the project and live became the filter for what would ultimately make the final cut for Move.”
In addition, fans can catch Third Day as part of the World Vision/AEG live sponsored “Make A Difference Tour 2010,” which launches on Sept. 30 and will hit arenas in 20 cities through the end of October. The tour also features New York Times best-selling author Max Lucado along with recording artists Michael W. Smith and tobyMac.
The honors and awards for Third Day’s Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage keep flowing in, as the live concert video project earned a Gold sales certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
The RIAA Gold certification follows a busy early 2010 that saw the project earn a GRAMMY Award for the band, along with Dove Award nomination for Long Form Music Video of the Year.
“We’re definitely both honored and humbled to be receiving this news. It was our desire to give our fans a real sense of what life on the road looks like – just being ourselves; sometimes tense, sometimes funny but always being real,” says bassist Tai Anderson.
All tolled, the Live Revelations honor marks the band’s eighth overall Gold certification and second for a video project, with Third Day, Offerings, Offerings II, Come Together, Time, Wherever You Are and the CD/DVD version of Live Wire all hitting Gold status. (Offerings and Live Wire have also hit the organization’s Platinum threshold.)
Overall, Third Day is nominated for two Dove Awards this year, additionally picking up a nod for its contribution to the original motion picture soundtrack for Fireproof. Additionally, Third Day frontman Mac Powell also gathered a Dove Award nomination for Special Event Album of the Year for his work on the Glory Revealed II: The Word of God In Worship album, as well as a pair of nominations (as artist and songwriter) in the Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year category for “Since The World Began” from that same project.
The 41st Annual Dove Awards will be handed out in ceremonies on Wednesday, April 21 at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, and will premiere on Gospel Music Channel Sunday, April 25 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central.

Among previous inductees to the George Music Hall of Fame are such musical legends as Ray Charles, Johnny Mercer, Otis Redding, Chet Atkins, James Brown, Little Richard, Dottie Rambo, Gladys Knight, R.E.M., Alan Jackson and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Featured on the tour is Glory Revealed, whose lineup includes Third Day’s Mac Powell, author/speaker David Nasser, Laura Story, Trevor Morgan, Shawn Lewis and other special guests.

Through this fund, Third Day--who actively supports the ONE Campaign--has been able to serve charities such as Habitat For Humanity, Blood:Water Mission, World Vision’s Hope Child Initiative and is responsible for more than a million dollars in donations over the last four years to disaster relief in and outside of the U.S.

Multi-platinum, GRAMMY and AMA winning rock band Third Day announces the follow-up to one of its most successful outings ever with the fall leg of the 2009 "Revelation Tour." Continuing on the success of the spring's 35-city "Revelation Tour" which sold out more than one-third of its dates, this fall's powerhouse tour will feature special guests Glory Revealed.
“When fans of the band who have seen us perform dozens of times over the years continue to tell us the ‘Revelation Tour’ is the best Third Day outing ever, we know what we're sensing each night isn't just our perspective," responds Third Day guitarist Mark Lee. "Believe me, this tour is every bit as special for us as it is for our fans. And while it's hard to imagine it getting even better, we know the Glory Revealed set will add to the poignancy of each night."
The Glory Revealed lineup of artists that will perform during the 12-city fall "Revelation Tour" will include Third Day's Mac Powell, author/speaker David Nasser, Laura Story, Trevor Morgan, Shawn Lewis and other special guests. As a follow-up to the multiple Dove Award-winning 2007 release Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship, project visionaries Powell and David Nasser (author/speaker) are releasing a second CD in the award-winning series tomorrow (July 14), titled Glory Revealed II: The Word of God in Worship. The Powell-produced project again blends roots-driven worship music with Biblical truth designed to musically stamp the word of God on the heart of listeners. Glory Revealed II features vocals from 21 different artists including Mark Hall, Amy Grant, Sara Evans, Shane & Shane, Natalie Grant and Brandon Heath, among others, and draws from several passages of Scripture, including excerpts from Psalms, Corinthians, Hebrews, Isaiah and more.
“Concert promoters have been buzzing with anticipation as they've been preparing for the fall's 'Revelation Tour' dates, and the Glory Revealed collective being added to the line-up is a real slam dunk," says Third Day's booking agent, Jeff Gregg of Creative Artists Agency. "Given this year's economic climate, the fact that the ‘Revelation Tour’ sold out more than one-third of its dates in the spring really sets the table for this second leg."
The fall “Revelation Tour,” which kicks off October 8 in Tallahassee, Fla. continues Third Day’s tradition of “paying it forward” by donating $1 per ticket sold to charitable organizations through its Come Together Fund. Through this fund, Third Day--who actively supports the ONE Campaign--has been able to serve charities such as Habitat For Humanity, Blood:Water Mission, World Vision’s Hope Child Initiative and is responsible for more than a million dollars in donations over the last 4 years to disaster relief in and outside of the U.S. Earlier this year, Third Day celebrated the dedication of the Gateway School for impoverished children in India which the band helped build through the Come Together Fund.
Since so many of the fans that come to Third Day's concerts attend as families, the band has coordinated a special concert specifically for them during the tour. The "Revelation Tour" will present a Third Day Family Picnic concert on October 9th in Simpsonville, S.C. In addition to Third Day and Glory Revealed, the Family Picnic will welcome special guests Jars of Clay, Thousand Foot Krutch, FM Static, Audio Unplugged, This Beautiful Republic, and B. Reith.

(Nashville, Tenn.) May 14, 2009 – Multi-platinum, GRAMMY and AMA winning rock band Third Day just wrapped the “Revelation Tour” which is among its most successful outings ever thanks to sales in excess of 75,000 tickets and more than 1/3 of its dates being sold out. The 35-city run, which welcomed special guests, the GMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” recipient Brandon Heath and new pop/rock band Revive, educated the massive turnout of fans about fair trade through Third Day’s innovative partnership with Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Company.
Long-established as a strong live act, Third Day fed off its fans’ ecstatic energy to turn in performances on par with--if not superior to--any in the band’s history. “The ‘Revelation Tour’ has been completely energizing for the band,” responds Third Day bassist Tai Anderson. “The sold out crowds have been singing along to all the hits and letting us know night after night how much the new music is resonating with them. Fans that have seen Third Day dozens of times through the years have repeatedly told us that this has been their favorite show yet. It has been great to share the stage with a rising star Brandon Heath, and Revive’s enthusiasm has been contagious for everyone on the tour.”
The band’s booking agent, Jeff Gregg of Creative Artists Agency, agrees. “This was, without a doubt, a power tour,” he says. “The ‘Revelation Tour’ sold out more than 1/3 of its dates this spring, which, in this economic climate really says a lot for this tour. The popularity of the show has promoters buzzing about upcoming fall tour opportunities.”
The “Revelation Tour,” which kicked off in March and concluded with a sellout date in Abbotsford, Canada on May 9 also boasted sold-out dates in cities such as Macon, Ga.; Jonesboro, Ark.; Bossier City, La.; Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Corona, Calif.; Redding, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Modesto, Calif.; Abbotsford, BC; Green Bay, Wis.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Phoenix, Arizona.
Dan Fife, of Awakening Events, offers, “In four months, we had four sold-out shows between Winter ‘08 and Spring ‘09, including a March 20th show with 4,500 Third Day fans at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center. The energy level at our shows was awesome and we had more follow up comments than you can imagine. Besides the full houses, we always enjoy knowing we are a small part of making a difference in the world through the Third Day Come Together Fund, which supports various humanitarian projects around the globe.”
Thanks to a forward-looking and consistent online presence by Third Day, the band and its fans enjoy an unusual level of interaction. “Facebook and Twitter have proven to be invaluable tools for communicating with our fans on a whole new level. It has given us another platform to connect with them on this tour,” explains Third Day guitarist Mark Lee. “From up-to-the-minute updates to even taking song requests on Twitter, fans are given a more immediate glimpse into the day-to-day life of a working band, and we have another vehicle to get the word out about Third Day.” The band’s most popular online destinations are:

The “Revelation Tour” continued Third Day’s tradition of “paying it forward” by donating $1 per ticket sold to charitable organizations through its Come Together Fund. For the “Revelation Tour,” Third Day formed a redemptive partnership with Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee on behalf of Rwanda. The two paired up after David Carr--the band’s drummer and a coffee connoisseur--experienced a Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee House near Atlanta. Third Day drew attention to the fair trade company, in part, by featuring a Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee mobile shop and barista at each “Revelation Tour” stop.
“I was surprised to learn that 80 percent of the coffee Americans consume is exploitation coffee,” explains Carr. “But, in addition to serving an excellent, freshly roasted cup of joe, Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Company works directly with coffee growers in Rwanda to ensure each worker is treated fairly and paid a living wage. As they enjoy the fruit of their labor, growers experience the sweetness of God’s grace. Perhaps this is a revelation many need to hear; that their daily habits have a remarkable impact on people all over the world, that through simply purchasing coffee where every worker is taken care of, an entire nation is experiencing redemption.”
Entrepreneurial pastor Jonathan Golden started Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee after learning the 1994 genocide in Rwanda devastated the coffee growing community and left the surviving growers in unjust conditions. In addition to practicing fair trade, Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee has invested a portion of its profits into village projects like building a coffee washing station in Bukonya, offering microfinance loans to entrepreneurs (including helping widows become entrepreneurs and cultivate their businesses), providing coffee bikes to growers, and, ever important, financing care for village orphans.
“We are so thankful to Third Day for allowing us to team up with them on the ‘Revelation Tour’,” says Golden. “The band’s support has allowed us to reach hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country, all with the goal of cultivating community and pursuing social justice in Rwanda. With the help of Third Day, we are actively on our way to transforming the village of Bukonya, Rwanda: 210 farmers, 1,200 family members, and 500 orphans.” For more information on Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee visit: www.landofathousandhills.com.
In recent weeks, Third Day has also been celebrating a hit album, a continual No.1 radio single, the recent release of its DVD/CD project titled Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage, and the dedication of the Gateway School for impoverished children in India which Third Day helped build through the Come Together Fund.
At the same time, Third Day’s latest, No. 1-debuting album, Revelation (7/29/08), is approaching 400,000 units scanned as the record continues to move more than 5,000 copies each week. After nine months out, the album remains in the Top 10 of the Nielsen Christian Albums sales chart.
The band is also celebrating the release of the third single from Revelation, “Born Again.” This week the band saw 16 stations add the single out of the box (9 at AC/7 at CHR). Stations who added early include the WAY-FM network, KCMS/Seattle, KTIS/Minneapolis, WRBS/Baltimore and SIRIUS/XM.

(Nashville, Tenn.) March 27, 2009 – The multi-platinum, GRAMMY and AMA winning rock band Third Day is celebrating sold-out tour dates, a hit album, and a continual No. 1 radio single.
The renowned band kicked off its spring “Revelation Tour” this month and has already seen its dates in Green Bay, WI, Pittsburgh, PA, Worcester, MA, Shreveport, LA and the forthcoming show in Macon, GA sell out. While other major acts are starting to bow to the current economic climate by slashing general admission ticket prices, Third Day’s fan support remains as vibrant as ever. A prime example was the recent stop in Jonesboro where 4,600 of the band’s fans converged on Arkansas State University’s Convention Center.
“We’re humbled by the overwhelming response of our fans to this tour,” says Third Day guitarist Mark Lee. “And I don’t just mean the attendance. While there’s a lot of talk these days about concerts and movies being a chance for people to escape from reality, we consider it an honor to help them confront their anxiety head-on. We want our concerts to be about finding hope in the midst of difficulty.”
The “Revelation Tour,” which also features reigning “New Artist of the Year” and recent double-GRAMMY nominee, Brandon Heath, and new four-piece pop/rock band, Revive, launched March 5 in Champagne, IL and will conclude in Abbotsford, BC on May 9.
While Third Day is on top of the proverbial world right now, there is bitter-sweet fallout that comes with a run of dates as successful as the “Revelation Tour.” Dan Fife, of Dan Fife Communications & Marketing for Awakening Events, explains. “We have heard from so many people telling us how remarkable the Revelation Tour was last weekend. We have had three sold out shows with Third Day since Revelation hit the shelves, and I have another show this weekend that looks like it will make it to capacity! We really appreciate the support we get from the band, CAA and their management to help pull these shows off... there is a real team effort here. Obviously, when you put over 4,000 people into a venue in this environment, there is something special happening, and we are excited to be a part of it.”
These days, Third Day is celebrating more than their fantastic tour. The band’s latest, No. 1-debuting album, Revelation (7/29), is approaching 350,000 units sold as the record continues to move more than 5,000 copies each week. After eight months out, the album remains in the Top 15 of the Christian Nielsen SoundScan sales chart. Meanwhile, the record’s current single, “Revelation,” holds the No. 1 spot at Christian radio for the sixth consecutive week.
All this momentum is creating a sort of perfect storm as Third Day gears up for the April 7 release of its latest project, a DVD/CD titled Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage. The 75-minute documentary seamlessly blends Third Day’s engaging live concert experience with exclusive behind-the-scenes moments as only an “all access” pass can offer. Fans will get a personal glimpse of the band living day-to-day with family and friends during the previous tour. Live Revelations also features the moving music video for the hit song “Revelation.” The accompanying audio disc places the listener in the front row as it features nine tracks drawn from Third Day’s summer and fall 2008 tour dates, showcasing
songs including, “This Is Who I Am,” “Otherside” and “I Will Always Be True.” A highlight of the CD is the live collaboration with Switchfoot, Jars of Clay and Robert Randolph & The Family Band for a cover of the U2/B.B. King classic “When Love Comes To Town,” captured on last year’s “Music Builds Tour.”
In support of the “Revelation Tour,” Third Day has already been interviewed by more than twenty newspapers including the Green Bay Gazette & Post Cresent, Pittsburgh's Observer Reporter, The Bangor Daily News, The San Antonio Express News and The Shreveport Times. The tour continues Third Day’s tradition of “paying it forward” by donating $1 per ticket sold to charitable organizations through its “Come Together Fund.” Through this fund, Third Day has been able to serve charities such as Habitat For Humanity, Blood:Water Mission, World Vision’s Hope Child Initiative and is responsible for more than a million dollars in donations over the last 4 years to disaster relief in and outside of the U.S.

Veteran rock band THIRD DAY, long a proponent of allowing fans glimpses into their lives and passions, both on and off the stage, let the cameras and tape recorders roll freely on several dates of its recent tour, and the result is nothing short of a “must-have” piece for Third Day fans, worldwide: Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage, due out April 7.
The 75-minute documentary seamlessly blends the powerful Third Day live concert experience with exclusive behind-the-scenes moments as only an “all access” pass can offer. “When we say ‘all access’ we really went to the extreme with it,” notes Tai Anderson, the band’s bass player. “You’ll see Mac, Mark, David, me living day-to-day with the people we call our ‘family on the road’ and just being ourselves; sometimes intense, sometimes funny - but always real.”
This project successfully captures the band in transparent moments outside the spotlights. Fans will overhear creative discussions on songs and set lists as the band ramps up before shows. It also offers glimpses of one-on-one interactions with both family and fans, the band’s contagious sense of humor and even rare admission on its tour bus. The viewer will experience the delicate balance of life on the road and family commitments, and a bit of what it’s like when they’re off the road at home.
Live Revelations also features the moving music video for the No. 1 song “Revelation,” the title track of Third Day’s Revelation (7/29/08), culled from a live performance and interspersed with footage from California’s “Salvation Mountain,” the constantly evolving “outsider art” project that served as the inspiration for Revelation’s cover art treatment.
Anderson elaborates, “I’m really proud of the way ‘Live Revelations’ turned out. This is the kind of piece I'd want to see from my favorite bands. It has great performances, but also captures the tension and struggles of our lives on the road. The mix of performance and documentary makes it engaging all the way through.”
The accompanying audio disc places the listener in the front row as it features nine tracks drawn from summer and fall 2008 tour dates, showcasing songs including, “This Is Who I Am,” “Otherside” and “I Will Always Be True.”
A highlight of the audio disc is the team-up with friends from Switchfoot, Jars of Clay and Robert Randolph & The Family Band for a cover of the U2/B.B. King classic “When Love Comes To Town,” captured on last year’s Music Builds Tour benefiting Habitat for Humanity.
“It is always a pleasure to release live versions of our songs,” shares drummer, David Carr. “We spend so much time constructing the album versions but the songs really take on their true form when there is no going back and fixing anything, and there is no chance to second guess when we just get to be a live band. It was especially a joy to share the stage with the likes of Jars of Clay, Switchfoot and Robert Randolph in the performance of ‘When Love Comes to Town’! The song was electrifying and moving and each of us got a kick out of playing alongside such immense talent.”

Fans can catch Third Day on the road this spring as it kicks off its 34-city Revelation Tour on March 5 in Champaign, Ill. The band will deliver its trademark live show with special guests, GMA’s ‘New Artist of the Year’ and Double GRAMMY Nominee, Brandon Heath and high-energy, Australian pop/rock band, Revive. We’ve had them open for us over the last several months and they’ve been very well received. It’s going to be fun continuing to introduce them to our fans over this spring run.”
The Revelation Tour will continue Third Day’s tradition of “paying it forward” by donating $1 per ticket sold to charitable organizations through its “Come Together Fund.” Through this fund, Third Day has been able to serve charities such as Habitat For Humanity, Blood:Water Mission, World Vision’s Hope Child Initiative and is responsible for more than a million dollars in donations over the last 4 years to disaster relief in and outside of the U.S.

About Brandon Heath
Singer/songwriter Brandon Heath celebrates a milestone year in 2008 with two GRAMMY nominations, a blockbuster No. 1 single and the coveted title of New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards. After releasing his anticipated sophomore album What If We in August, the project’s debut single “Give Me Your Eyes” held the top spot at Christian AC radio for 11 consecutive weeks. The hit song also secured 17 weeks at No.1 on iTunes Christian Top 100 Songs Chart with more than 160,000 tracks purchased. “Give Me Your Eyes” is GRAMMY nominated for Best Gospel Song and What If We for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
Teaming up again with producer Dan Muckala, Heath’s GRAMMY-nominated sophomore album follows his 2006 breakthrough debut project, Don’t Get Comfortable, which delivered Heath’s first radio No.1, and Song of the Year nominee, “I’m Not Who I Was.” The song ended 2007 as one of the year’s most played radio singles. Heath’s highly-acclaimed debut also contributed to his first Songwriter of the Year nomination at the 2008 GMA Dove Awards.
Off stage, Heath seeks opportunities to merge his public platform with his heart for community and serving the needs of his neighbors around the world. He regularly works with organizations such as YoungLife, Blood:Water Mission, Restore International and unofficially volunteering for many other human rights agencies on a global scale. In March 2008, Heath turned his attention to trials near his hometown of Nashville after parts of the city were ravaged by a string of tornadoes. Brandon quickly organized a highly-effective benefit concert raising $20,000 for the storm victims. Heath has been a respected songwriter in the Nashville music community for years, collaborating with well-known artists like Bebo Norman, Matt Wertz and Dave Barnes, to name a few. Heath first began writing at age 13 and credits the town’s legendary hotspot for songwriters, the Bluebird Café, as the place he first experienced music that moved him. (Nashville, Tenn.) Dec.4, 2008 –Today, Essential Records announces the signing of Australia’s latest musical export, high-energy pop/rock band Revive. In partnership with GRAMMY-winning group Third Day’s Consuming Fire Productions, the band of four from Sydney relocated to the U.S. in 2007 to pursue a career in Christian music. Championed and mentored over the last year by the members of Third Day, Revive will release its 12-song label debut titled Chorus of the Saints on March 10, 2009.
Third Day’s lead singer, Mac Powell, co-produced the album with Revive. Chorus of the Saints combines Revive’s passionate musicianship with its direct emphasis on well-crafted lyrics. The vibrant pop/rock outfit is anchored by Dave Hanbury’s charismatic lead vocals which contain an element of drama and spiritual passion that commands attention.
Powell notes, “I can’t wait for the USA to hear this new album. It has the ability to make you want to groove, or move you to tears in your own living room.”
Third Day bassist Tai Anderson adds, “Revive has everything that I look for in a new artist: great musicianship and songs, a passionate drive and work ethic, and the ability to really connect live with an audience. Whether in the studio, in concert or backstage, they listen to the lessons we have learned and apply them quickly to their own band. It would be great if someone would listen to this CD, and feel like they could walk closer with the Lord.”

Dave Hanbury says, “It’s an honor to share the stage with a band that has been so influential on the industry as well as our own lives. So far American audiences have been great to us and we can’t wait to visit every corner of this enormous land!”
Revive got its start more than four years ago when Dave Hanbury (lead vocals), Tyler Hall (guitar), Mike Tenkate (drums), and Rich Thompson (bass) were at church together in Sydney, Australia, playing shows for local youth groups and schools. The guys first caught the attention of frontman Mac Powell during Third Day’s “Down Under” tour of Australia in 2007 at which Revive performed in an opening slot. Now in the USA, Revive has played alongside Sanctus Real and DecemberRadio on Third Day’s 2008 spring tour, and most recently with NEEDTOBREATHE on the “Third Day Live” fall tour.

Third Day update from LA:
As the band rehearsed this morning (about 10 minutes
ago) the buildings began to shake. No, it wasn't a pack of Gomers trying to push
their way through to the studio, it was an earthquake that measured 5.8.
Rehearsal stopped, the band was ushered outside,
aftershocks rolled through and the band came back in and wrapped rehearsals.
What a street date!
*The last earthquake here was approx 5 years ago.

(Nashville, Tenn.) June 10, 2008 – With a significant Billboard Magazine cover feature impacting news stands last week (June 7 edition), Third Day returns to the headlines by claiming the No. 1 spot on Radio & Records’ Christian AC-Monitored, AC-Indicator and CHR radio charts, as well as CRW’s AC radio chart. “Call My Name” is the first single from the band’s upcoming Revelation (July 29) project, and reached the No. 1 spot on said charts in just nine weeks. According to Christian Radio Weekly, “Call My Name” has reached an incredible 22.5 million in cumulative listener impressions in that nine-week span, making it equal to the No. 11 song at Top 40 radio, and the No. 8 song at Country radio. This achievement marks Third Day’s 25th No. 1 radio single.
“We’re overwhelmed by the support of our fans and all of the radio station partners we’ve considered friends for years. When you put a new set of songs out, like we are with the release of Revelation, you wonder what people will think, so hearing that it went number one is such great encouragement to us!” shares Mac Powell.

(Nashville, Tenn.) May 22, 2008 – Atlanta-based rock band Third Day kicks things up a notch as it claims a spot in the Top 5 on Radio & Records’ Christian AC chart. “Call My Name,” the first single from its upcoming Revelation (releasing on July 29), slams into the Top 5 at Christian AC radio, after it had already become the highest-ever debut for a Third Day single on the chart. The song is currently No. 7 on the Radio & Records’ CHR chart.
According to Christian Radio Weekly, in just six weeks “Call My Name” has reached an incredible 19.6 million in cumulative listener impressions, making it the No. 1 Christian song in the country in terms of impressions alone. 19.6 million impressions ranks as equal to a No. 15 song at Top 40 radio or a No. 10 song at Country radio.
In comparison, Flyleaf’s smash single “All Around Me” is sitting at No. 16 on Top 40 radio with fewer impressions. Third Day is receiving four million more impressions than Daughtry’s current No. 1 Hot AC song, “Feels Like Tonight,” and one million more than “Love Song,” the current No. 1 AC single by Sara Bareilles. “Call My Name” is also equal in impressions to a No. 11 on the Country chart, which, this week, is more impressions than Alan Jackson or Dierks Bentley’s current radio singles.
While it’s been almost three years since the release of the Third Day’s last studio album, fans have been rabid for new music from the band, leading to the massive success of this new single. They have a lot to look forward to as, together with superstar producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, Hoobastank, P.O.D. and Flyleaf), the band has boldly reshaped their sound for the next decade of its career.
After the July 29 release of Revelation, the band is hitting the road for a series of summer festival appearances and the highly anticipated Music Builds Tour featuring Third Day with Switchfoot, Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Jars of Clay. (Nashville, Tenn.) April 18, 2008 – Just when you thought there might not be any new ground the music of Third Day could cover after a decade-plus career, along comes the instant success of its new single, “Call My Name.”
The power ballad debut track from the Atlanta-based band’s forthcoming album project Revelation garnered the highest-ever debut for a Third Day single, coming in at No. 16 on Radio & Records’ Christian AC chart.
The song also shot to the top of the publication’s Most Increased Plays (up 295 spins) for the format, as well as launching over the Airpower threshold (top 20 in spins and audience), according to the April 14 edition of R&R Update Christian.
“Call My Name” was an immediate add for 69 stations (52 AC, 17 CHR) from all over the country, including some of Christian radio’s key outlets, such as KLOVE, WAWZ - Star 99.1 New York City, WFSH - The Fish Atlanta, WLFJ - His Radio, WFFH - The Fish Nashville, KTIS - Minneapolis, KSBJ - Houston, KXOJ - Tulsa, KCMS - Spirit 105.3 Seattle, KFIS - The Fish Portland, and KDUV - Fresno/Visalia.
The instant success of “Call My Name” kicks off a very busy balance of April for the band, one that includes an April 19 performance at a youth rally at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, NY, an event that’s part of the itinerary for the first American papal visit by Pope Benedict XVI.
“It’s not every day that you’re invited to perform for a crowd being presided over by Pope Benedict XVI,” says Third Day lead vocalist Mac Powell. “This is a great honor for us.”
The band will then head back down South to take part in events surrounding GMA Music Week starting April 20, and caps off the week with an appearance at The Dove Awards on Wednesday, April 23.
The World Premiere performance of “Call My Name” is happening exclusively during the Dove Awards – only on Gospel Music Channel, LIVE Wednesday, April 23rd starting at 8 pm eastern. Gospel Music Channel is available on DIRECTV Channel 338 and on cable – check local listings.
Third Day’s Revelation releases on July 29, followed by a summer of festival appearances and an ambitious fall tour schedule to be announced in coming weeks.
(Nashville, Tenn.) April 11, 2008 – Longtime fans of the epic, rock sound of Third Day got their first taste of the band’s upcoming studio album Revelation (7/29/08) with the release of the project’s debut single, “Call My Name,” which became an instant smash hit at radio across the country.
The driving guitars, the instantly familiar yet startlingly tender voice of Mac Powell, and the universal theme of reaching out to God in the midst of the everyday has touched a chord with listeners anxious for the return of Third Day to airwaves and concert stages alike.
“‘Call My Name’ is the best upbeat radio song from Third Day, ever,” says Bob Thornton from Tulsa’s, KXOJ. “I’d play it ten times an hour if I could!”
Shannon Steele of Fresno/Visalia’s KDUV, shares, “One of the greatest issues our listeners face is the feeling of isolation. ‘Call My Name’ is a song that conveys the message that we don’t have to walk through life alone. Beyond testing well, I’m sure this song will connect with our listener and offer a message that’s priceless.”
The single also debuted as an exclusive for-sale download on Amazonmp3.com and stormed to the No. 1 spot within its first few hours of availability, even passing Justin Timberlake and Madonna’s new single, “4 Minutes.”

Third Day’s Revelation releases on July 29, followed by a summer of festival appearances and an ambitious fall tour schedule to be announced in coming weeks.
(Nashville, Tenn.) March 31, 2008 – When Pope Benedict XVI arrives in the United States in April, he will visit several cities including New York City and Washington, D.C. He is scheduled to attend open-air masses, deliver an address to the United Nations and visit to the World Trade Center site.
One of the key stops will be an April 19 visit to St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, NY, where he will preside over a youth rally; encouraging youth to seek vocations within the church.
Third Day, GRAMMY winning and multi-million selling rock band, was asked to perform at the youth rally by St. Joseph’s Seminary. “It’s not every day that you’re invited to perform for a crowd being presided over by Pope Benedict XVI,” shares lead vocalist, Mac Powell. “This is a great honor for us.”
Chris Wangro, event producer, notes, “Third Day was selected to perform because they’re recognized as a leader in Christian music and an important influence for today’s youth. We wanted to bring the most current sound to the rally and Third Day definitely fits this bill.”
Third Day is readying to release its 11th studio project Revelation on July 29. Produced by Howard Benson (Daughtry, P.O.D., Flyleaf and Hoobastank) the 13-song project reflects its Southern rock influences, but also delivers real, palpable vulnerability in both song matter and performance. With guest vocals by Chris Daughtry, Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosely and Robert Randolph the album is highly anticipated.
The albums first single, the aching love song “Call My Name” releases to Christian radio on April 4, and sets the stage for the album’s release on July 29, followed by a summer of festival appearances and an ambitious fall tour schedule together with Switchfoot and Robert Randolph & The Family Band.
When Third Day’s newest project kicks off with vocalist Mac Powell declaring “I’m the son of a good man/I’m the child of an angel,” you don’t get the sense the statement is necessarily autobiographical. It’s personal yet universal; a reflection of man’s never-ending search for his identity. That thread of searching for definition plays throughout Revelation, the veteran Atlanta-based band’s 11th studio album, set to release on July 29. For Powell and his longtime bandmates – guitarist Mark Lee, bassist Tai Anderson and drummer David Carr – that search involved stepping out of their physical comfort zone by recording the project in Los Angeles, and out of their creative comfort zone by bringing in producer Howard Benson, known for his work with artists such as Daughtry, P.O.D., Flyleaf and Hoobastank. The result is a muscular sound, strung taut with hooks and hat. The 13-song album’s first single, the aching love song “Call My Name,” releases to Christian radio on April 4, and sets the stage for the album’s release on July 29, followed by a summer of festival appearances and an ambitious fall tour schedule together with Switchfoot and Robert Randolph & The Family Band. Iconic Band’s 2008 Studio Project Rocks With Intent and Intensity
(Nashville, Tenn.) March 27, 2008 – When Third Day’s newest project kicks off with vocalist Mac Powell declaring “I’m the son of a good man/I’m the child of an angel,” you don’t get the sense the statement is necessarily autobiographical.
The result is a muscular sound, strung taut with hooks and hat-tips to its Southern-rock influences, but also a real, palpable vulnerability in both song matter and performance.
“As we mature in our faith, we come to a point where we realize that everything is not black and white. The older you get, the more questions you have,” Powell says. “The point is that it’s okay that we don’t have all the answers - but we know the One who does.”
Just as this season of definition for Third Day involved bringing Benson into the fold, other artists step into to the creative mix as well, such as Chris Daughtry on the track “Slow Down,” Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosely on “Run To You” and “Born Again” and pedal steel guitar wizard Robert Randolph on “Otherside.”
But it’s the core of Third Day that pushed them to this bigger, more polished and yet edgier musical stance, with lyrics designed to relate to a broad swath of the human and Christian experience. “So many Christians have a story of being lost, experiencing Christ and then their lives are all better. But for the ones who were brought up in Christian homes or who have been Christians for most of their lives, are they supposed to have it all together?” Anderson asks. “These songs are for people who are walking through something, right now. They add a tension that can only be found in our daily experience.”

(Nashville, Tenn.) July 2, 2007 – Fans of multi-platinum, GRAMMY and Dove Award-winning rock band Third Day in the United Kingdom got to see the veteran group up close and personal in early May, and at the same time help ministries and social causes in other parts of the world.
From the famed Royal Albert Hall in London to a nightclub in Wales, from a huge church in Ireland to a legendary rock club in Scotland, Third Day brought not only new music from its latest studio album Wherever You Are, but also classic hits from its decade-long career to thousands of excited fans in the UK. Drawing over 3,000 attendees, the show in London truly resonated with the audience, prompting one parent to comment, “We had a fantastic time as a family at [the concert] on Monday... Third Day especially was awesome. Thanks for getting them to play – a rare treat! It was fabulous to see my kids really into it.”
At the same time, the crowds at three of the tour’s stops - Cardiff, Belfast and Glasgow - dug deep into their pockets to help two charities dear to both the band and the short tour’s promoters: Ignite India Churches, which helps a ministry in India called Gateway with church building construction in rural villages; and Friendly Faces Foundation, which aids in getting child slaves forced to work in the fishing industry in Ghana released.
“Of all the tours when I travel with Third Day, concerts in my home country are some of the most special,” said Nigel James, Third Day’s longtime road pastor. “In each place the crowd really got behind our desire to help projects in Ghana and India. We’ve already got a school compound in India called ‘Come Together’ and now we might well build a ‘Third Day’ sponsored church in a small village!
“We raised over £9,500 (about $18,000) to be split evenly between the two,” James continued. “In Glasgow, even the bar staff at the venue threw their tips into the offering buckets!”
Trevor King of TKE concert promotions added: “It was fantastic to have Third Day back in the UK, and especially to give some profile to the work we are supporting in Ghana rescuing child slaves. Gary Smith from Ignite, and I, look forward to promoting bigger and better concerts with Third Day in the coming years.”
Over the past decade, Third Day has amassed 24 No.1 radio singles and sold almost six million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and six Gold records. The band has garnered 24 career Dove Awards, three GRAMMY Awards (from seven previous nominations), two consecutive American Music Award nods, multiple ASCAP honors, and has developed an historic partnership with Chevrolet. Third Day has maintained a touring record second-to-none by playing for audiences reaching into the millions. In addition to these many accolades, the band is most proud of its humanitarian efforts that include raising nearly $200,000 for the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and encouraging over 15,000 fans to sponsor children across the globe through the work of World Vision.
Platinum-selling, triple GRAMMY and multiple Dove Award winning rock band Third Day is pleased to announce the upcoming Fall’06 leg of their hugely popular “Wherever You Are” Tour. With plans to hit 38 markets, including Houston, New York City, Atlanta, Portland and Seattle, fans and promoters alike are anticipating a great show, and the continuation of blockbuster attendance numbers that have been ever increasing over Third Day’s illustrious, decade-long career.
In addition to the return of the popular worship band David Crowder Band to a majority of the dates on this new leg, lead singer Mac Powell is proud to announce special guest, RKT Music recording artist, Hyper Static Union. “Touring with DCB was everything we expected and more! The audiences were not the only ones entertained and inspired by these guys, we were as well. We’re thrilled to be able to tour with them again. With the addition of Hyper Static Union on the fall tour it's sure to be an even more exciting night!” *David Crowder Band will not perform on all tour dates. The artist performing on those dates will be announced soon.
Over the course of the band’s Spring ’06 leg that included 34 dates, nearly 140,000 fans came out to see the high-energy, worship-driven show from Christian music’s most popular rock band. Having partnered with Chevrolet for almost half a decade, Third Day experienced 16 sellouts including major markets Atlanta, New York City, Chicago, Fairfax, Nashville, Greensboro, Sacramento, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, and more. Attendance averaged 4000+ over the course of this Spring ’06 leg of its “Wherever You Are” tour.
Drummer David Carr communicated honestly, “We had up nights and down nights—so to speak—as far as audiences and energy goes, but it seemed that the one constant was that each night many lives were touched and moved a little closer to the healing hand of God. We can not claim one iota of credit for that but we are grateful that we were instrumental in that process.”
“It's incredible how much energy is generated from a sellout show,” guitarist Brad Avery expressed. “The room almost bursts at the seams with fan excitement. Promoters have done a tremendous job getting the word out about these events and because of that, we have been blessed with many sellouts. Hats off to them and everyone involved, and thanks most of all to the fans for coming out and making this an amazing tour."
Platinum-selling, GRAMMY and Dove Award winning rock band Third Day announces Spring ‘06 dates of its highly successful "Wherever You Are Tour," with special guest, the David Crowder*Band. With sellouts already announced in Atlanta, Ga. and Cedarville, Oh., Third Day is once again positioned to be one of the biggest draws in Christian music in the coming year.
Third Day has proven to be a favorite of promoters around the country, as evidenced by Dave Hart of House of Blues Concerts in Atlanta who stated, “We at House of Blues Concerts are thrilled to be involved in the success of Third Day at the Fox. Their efforts in Atlanta have always been stellar, and this sellout only confirms the band's ability to communicate to an ever growing audience.”
Minneapolis, Mn., Fairfax, Va., and Phoenix, Az. are already on the brink of being sold out. Rick Nunley of PNC Entertainment in Phoenix expressed, “There is definitely a buzz in the air here in Phoenix about the Third Day tour. The whole state of Arizona is excited. This one will be a sell out in the Theatre at the Glendale Arena in the Phoenix area.”
Creative Trust COO J. David Huffman comments, “We know that the response to Third Day’s 'Wherever You Are' tour is far exceeding our expectations therefore creating a strong sell-out environment.”
During this upcoming tour, Third Day will be partnering with World Vision to raise money and awareness to address the child soldier crisis in Gulu, Uganda.
Third Day's Tai Anderson described their involvement, “Last year we were introduced to a film called Invisible Children that documented the tragic situation in Gulu in which children are taken from their homes, armed with machine guns and sent in to the rebel warfare for the LRA. We immediately wanted to bring resolution, aid and awareness to this issue, and we knew our fans would want to be involved as well. We are grateful to have the opportunity to come alongside World Vision's Children Of War campaign that exists to rehabilitate these kids and give them a hope and a future.”
At each concert and online, fans will be given the opportunity to sign up for a monthly pledge of $20 to raise money for Children of War Rehabilitation Center in Gulu, which ministers to escaped LRA children, giving them medical treatment, counseling, and the gospel. If fans would like to participate in a traditional sponsorship of a child, there will be child sponsorship packets specifically from Uganda and other nearby countries in northern Africa. These Hope Child sponsorships are $35 per month. Additionally, one dollar for every ticket sold on the "Wherever You Are Tour" will go directly to benefit the children in Uganda. Anderson will be traveling to Gulu to visit this Rehabilitation Center before the start of the tour.
Chevrolet continues its groundbreaking partnership with Third Day on this tour. The promotional campaign will include on-site activations at various concerts, along with radio and online marketing to support activations. Third Day was recently cited as an example of successful corporate partnerships by Ad Age by Teri Brown, president of TBA Network Inc.
In the Jan. 26 profile, Brown noted, “I love the Paul McCartney sponsorships, both with Visa and Fidelity. I think the Rolling Stones have paved the way with new ideas each time they tour. The current AmeriQuest campaign is great. I think the Reba McEntire campaign with Whirlpool is amazing. One of my favorite music sponsorship ties was a regional affiliation that Chevrolet did with the band Third Day. I wish more sponsors would look to this Christian based marketing with comfort. It proves itself time and time again.”
Third Day recently received a GRAMMY nomination for its Live Wire CD, this on the heels of winning their second GRAMMY Award at last year’s ceremonies. Over the past decade, Third Day has amassed 21 #1 radio singles and sold more than five million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and five Gold records. They have garnered 23 career Dove Awards, two Grammy Awards (from five nominations), two consecutive American Music Award nods, multiple ASCAP honors, performed at the Republican National Convention, developed an historic partnership with Chevrolet, and developed a touring record second to none by playing for audiences reaching into the millions.
