All Around You
“All Around You” was written specifically as a way to witness to people. The lines and the wording of the song
were developed and really crafted so they would relate to those who are searching. This song is about hope- and
about finding and relating to a real God who is all around you at all times.
I Will Follow You
“I Will Follow” was based on a mind image of a person sitting at their dark window, waiting to get through the
night- praying, trying to grasp the hope and the light of the next day. With this image in mind we wrote the song as
a statement and a commitment to following no matter how hard the race gets, and how dark the night seems- we
will follow Him to lead us home.
World On Fire
“World On Fire” really changed the whole feel of our record. As soon as we heard it, we sensed the urgency and
the passion in this song. We were going another direction with the title of our album, but as soon as this song fell in
our laps, we knew this was God ordained. This world below heaven is faced with so much hopelessness and
despair. This song is an anthem of the life that was given to us by Jesus, and the hope He provided us. The world
we walk around in is not the end- but while we are here, he has given us the Holy Spirit, and the ammunition to set
this world on fire for God. Until He returns, our commission is to touch lives and share of the hope of a world on
fire for God.
Perfect
“Perfect” was written as an encouragement and a reminder. It is a reminder of God’s forgiving, timely and perfect
love, and it is also an encouraging call to action for us to learn from this love and implement it into how we deal
with people on a daily basis. We are often so worn out and weighed down by human relationships that fail us. The
song “Perfect” is a simple look at the perfect life of Jesus that was demonstrated in how He loved people, and how
He always showed up at the right moment. In all we do, we want to try to emulate that, by being available, and
diligent in our relationships. This song is a realization that there is a perfect love that will never fail us. The hope is
that we will continue to learn from God’s forgiving, and perfect love in our own relationships.
You Are My Desire
This song is a cry and a longing for God to surround us and be the One thing that can satisfy us. We want to be the
followers we were created to be, and to be that daily we are forced to desperately cry for God to be our everythingour
only desire. As sinful creatures, we are ensnared by the things that don’t matter, but above everything, what we
seek and desire will be His face. This song is just a reminder of that.
Rain Down
This song has been a huge song for us live. We perform it in small worship settings, and in our big rock show. It is
loved by fans, and we love to see them get into the music and the message. It is an engaging song, and it speaks
about this generation banding together across the world, crying out to God to open up and rain down on usbringing
His love, and His grace, and His mercy for His children.
Still Believe
This song was based on the story of Peter- and how in all circumstances he should have been written off. He
messed things up all the time. He fell asleep, lost faith, denied Christ. We are all like Peter- we always mess up.
The message of “Still Believe” is that no matter what we do, God still believes in us, and in the impact we can have
for Him in this life.
How Beautiful You Are
“How Beautiful You Are” is just an honest, candid look at what we feel and how we relate to God. When we can’t
find the words to sum up what we are feeling, or how we need to respond, we can only say God, You are Beautiful,
and we love You.
Shine
The message of this song came directly from Matthew chapter 5. In verse 16, the concept of people seeing your
actions and then praising the Father because of what they see - was something that really meant a lot to us. The idea
of salt and light, although written in Matthew so long ago, is still so current. Now more than ever, We need to be
engaged in this culture in a way that stands out. When people see who you are and what you are, they are seeing
Jesus and will turn to Him and praise Him for the work He has done.
Any Other Way
The crafting of this song was basically born out of many deeply burning questions we had. Is it even possible to say
‘I love you Jesus’ and only mean it half way? Is there any such thing as uninvolved worship? Can my heart be
disengaged from the God who created it and called me into His kingdom? There were so many questions we had,
and we really started reading, and writing, and fellowshipping with other songwriters to hash out these answers.
What we came up with was “Any Other Way”. The relationship to God is a commitment, and ultimately it is a
commitment to surrender. In order to give your self completely, you have to surrender. We developed this song to
speak into a life of surrender and commitment to a worthy King.
That’s Why We Say
This is a worship song that musically and lyrically was intended for an average person, no matter the age, and
spiritual maturity, to be able to sing, and relate with. We did this very broken down honest version so that at the end
of the record it is a return to a small, simple moment and time with God. All the other tracks on the album point to
God’s attributes and on this eleventh song, we sum it up to say: You are holy, magnificent, worthy…. That’s why
we say.
